Curriculum

At St. Mary's we provide access to a broad and balanced curriculum to every child in our school.  We wish to inspire and motivate children, enabling them to be both knowledgeable and independent.

All subjects of the National Curriculum are taught, some through topic work and others as discrete subjects.  There is appropriate emphasis on the development of Literacy and Numeracy skills and the use of Information Technology across all subject areas.

As a Catholic school, all the children are regularly instructed and educated in Catholic beliefs, following the Archdiocesan Religious Education Programme.

Homework is discretionary in Key Stage 1 but in Key Stage 2 regular homework should be expected.

Internally the school is organised on the following lines.
